Oral Health Promoter
- Make a difference across Bay of Plenty communities, connecting with whānau where they live, learn and come together
- Part-time position 0.6 FTE, with flexibility to work across Monday to Sunday
- Help give tamariki the best start to lifelong oral health through practical education, engagement and whānau connection
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is firmly grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders.
About the Role
Turn good oral health messages into conversations that make sense for whānau. As an Oral Health Promoter, you will build relationships across the community, connect with parents and caregivers, and take part in local events where oral health education can have real impact. Your work will have a particular focus on improving oral health for tamariki aged 0 to 4, with opportunities to also support rangatahi aged 12 to 17. From face-to-face and online presentations to developing resources and social media content, there is plenty of variety.
About the Team/Service/Location
You will join an established team of Oral Health Promoters working across the Bay of Plenty, including two roles within the Tauranga team and a dedicated youth-focused position. With a large number of Early Learning Centres across the area, this additional part-time role will strengthen the team's ability to reach tamariki and whānau early. While individual areas of focus may differ, the team works together when opportunities and community needs overlap.
