Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced and motivated team player to join the Urology Service as our Patient Pathway Coordinator. This regional service is part of Surgical Services Directorate.
In this busy role, you will play a key role in coordinating all data sources surrounding patient care, waitlist management and Ministry of Health targets.
Were looking for someone able to take a wide overview and identify process improvements which may enable us to better serve our patients. Its fast paced work with lots of competing demands.
This is a permanent, part-time role (up to 24 hours per week), the hours are flexible. The role is based at Auckland City Hospital in Grafton, but may involve the occasional visit to our clinical centre at Greenlane Hospital.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
Ideally you will have database management experience, including the ability to interpret data. You will likely have relevant experience in a healthcare setting, or a similar customer service-related role. Great communication and a `can do attitude, are a must.
To be successful in this role, you will have the following:
- A minimum of 3 years experience working in a fast-paced, complex environment. Preference is for experience in a clinical setting, but we will consider other experience that is similar. You must be able to quickly understand medical terminology and clinical systems. An appreciation of the management and use of sensitive, private information is critical.
- Experience using databases, particularly in situations where data informs decision making.
- Demonstrated competence in MS applications and accurate data entry skills. Excellent Word, Excel and Power Point would be an asset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities, with ease, and the confidence to manage the expectations of others. You must be able to manage your own time.
- Experience of improving processes, or ways of working, will set you apart.
