About the Role
Gain valuable real-life experience & insights of working in and with a dynamic and dedicated team through the role of Team Leader Physiotherapist. We are seeking an experienced New Zealand registered Physiotherapist with a wide variety of clinical expertise to lead the Outpatient Cardiorespiratory Physiotherapy team, within the wider Respiratory team. The Physiotherapy team primarily provide respiratory care to youth and adults with respiratory conditions including COPD, asthma, breathing pattern disorders and bronchiectasis, as well as people with concurrent health conditions including neuromuscular weakness. These physiotherapy services are provided through pulmonary rehabilitation, outpatient physiotherapy as well as interdisciplinary clinics across multiple community and clinic sites.
As the Team Leader, you will be the lead driver of this professional group ensuring that service expectations are met with a focus on quality, holistic and person/whanau-centred care. Shaped by an interdisciplinary care model, you will be integral to professional, specialty and health teams, working in partnership with other clinical leaders and service managers to ensure a high standard of evidence-based and best-practice guided care is consistently provided.
This is a unique opportunity to extend and develop your line management and leadership experience, in addition to managing a clinical caseload. Post-graduate study and research is actively supported by the department. In addition to weekday physiotherapy service provision, there is opportunity for successful candidate to contribute to the acute on-call and weekend roster for inpatient Cardio-Respiratory Physiotherapy. Credentialing and up-skilling are available.
To be successful in this role, you will have excellent communication skills applicable across multiple stakeholders, a strong clinical background in cardio-respiratory physiotherapy, and evidence of innovation and people management You will have extensive experience in the leadership, supervision and development of staff with experience in quality improvement, culture change and innovation. Experience in audit and research is also beneficial.
Essential:
- NZ registration with the relevant professional body, holding a current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC)
- A minimum of six years recent clinical experience in area of practice
- Recent experience working in the relevant setting
- Demonstrated ability in the development and management of staff
- Experience in problem solving, priority setting, and planning
- A full drivers licence

This role will be working across all Counties Manukau sites.
