Counties Manukau services over 1000 women every year who experience diabetes during pregnancy, and we are establishing a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a collaborative, evidence based and patient-centred service. We have a great opportunity for two experienced diabetes dietitians to join our innovative multidisciplinary team as we work to develop the service. This is a unique opportunity to extend and develop your existing clinical diabetes skills and experience. In addition, you will contribute to service development, ensuring that service expectations are met with a focus on quality, holistic and person/whanau-centred care.

The ideal applicant is self-motivated and enjoys working in a flexible and challenging environment, has great verbal and written interpersonal skills, able to think outside the box, efficient in time management, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a strong quality-focussed team. You will also be involved with dietetic student training and be required to participate and drive service development and project work. 

Employment package includes the refund of your annual practicing certificate, support towards the cost your Dietitians New Zealand subscription and a personal study allowance. We provide and support regular professional development opportunities, practice review, performance development planning and regular professional supervision.

Essential

• BCapSc or BSc, and Post Grad Dip Diet or MSc Dietetics (or equivalent as recognised by the NZ Dietitians Board).
• NZRD with current annual practicing certificate
• 2+ years clinical diabetes experience for core role, a minimum of 5 years experience for senior role and a minimum of 6 years experience for advanced role
• An ability to relate and communicate clearly on difficult and complex matters with a range of healthcare professionals, patients, and dietetic colleagues
• Cultural awareness and understanding
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic
• For a senior or advanced clinician, experience in leading service development

Desired

• Research Experience
• Motivational interviewing experience
• Clinical teaching experience
• Experience with professional supervision
