About the Role
Take the lead in the day-to-day operation of the Orderly Services at Tauranga Hospital. Reporting to the Regional Team Leader, you will provide visible, hands-on supervision of the team, coordinating workloads, rostering and leave to maintain reliable 24/7 service coverage. Alongside managing daily operational issues, you will support staff induction, training and development, oversee service requirements, and work across the hospital to keep people, equipment and essential services moving safely and efficiently.
About the Team/Service/Location
Order Services is an integral part of Tauranga Hospital, working across clinical and operational areas to support the smooth running of services every day. You will lead a busy team while building strong working relationships with ward staff, Duty Managers, Security, Property Services, Emergency Planning, laboratory teams and other hospital services. It is a highly connected environment where responsive leadership, communication and teamwork directly contribute to continuity of care.

About You
You are an experienced supervisor who is comfortable leading from the floor and making decisions in a fast-moving environment. Organised, approachable and accountable, you know how to allocate people effectively, respond to changing priorities and keep a large team working towards a common goal. Just as importantly, you enjoy developing others and creating a safe, reliable and positive team culture.
What you will bring:
- NZQA Level 3 Health and Wellbeing Orderlies
- At least four years supervisory experience within a fast-moving, multidisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating a team
- Strong planning, delegation and workload management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to build effective working relationships
- Sound judgement, problem-solving skills and confidence responding to operational issues
- Ability to work within established guidelines, protocols and procedures
- Commitment to health and safety, risk management and continuous improvement
- Ability to support the induction, training and development of new and existing staff
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts to support service requirements
