The Mason Clinic is the Auckland Regional Forensic Psychiatry Service (ARFPS) that serves the Northern region of New Zealand, from the Bombay Hills to Cape Reinga, and covers a population of approximately two million people. The service is based in Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, a thriving cosmopolitan city with well-established urban areas, golden beaches, pockets of native bush, and a thriving caf culture.

The ARFPS provides inpatient, outpatient, court and prison services for people with serious mental illness and intellectual disability within the criminal justice system. It is a teaching health service with strong links to tertiary institutions which prides itself on a culture of innovation, learning and professional development. In addition, the Mason Clinic has recently commissioned state-of-the-art inpatient facilities that reflect our commitment to bicultural and trauma-informed practice.

As the Clinical Director, you will be involved in implementing and maintaining clinical best practices, service development, and will lead clinical governance structures. You will work with Senior Leaders within the service, across Waitematā District, Regionally and Nationally in the development and delivery of specialist forensic mental health and intellectual disability services. You will have oversight, regulatory and administrative functions within mental health, intellectual disability and criminal justice legislation.

You will be an experienced Consultant Psychiatrist, committed to high-quality care, who enjoys working in partnership with other disciplines, who has a strong consumer and family/whānau focus and who enjoys the challenges of providing services to a diverse community. Within the role there is scope for direct patient care, teaching, and supervision.
