Senior Medical Officer - Gastroenterology

About the Role

We are seeking to recruit a Gastroenterology SMO to strengthen our existing gastroenterology service across the Bay of Plenty.

We are particularly interested in applicants with advanced endoscopy skills, including ERCP, to support the delivery and ongoing development of our regional gastroenterology service.

There is also an opportunity to contribute to the future development of our endoscopy service, including exploration of an in-house Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) service. While this is an area of future planning and development, it represents a potential opportunity for the successful applicant to contribute to shaping the future direction of gastroenterology services across the district.

About You

We are looking to recruit an SMO with proficiency in the provision of Gastroenterology specialist care to join our service. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery of both diagnostic and interventional procedures and enthusiasm to participate in the ongoing development of services for the people of Hauora a Toi.

The role will participate in the delivery of education (undergraduate and postgraduate) and contribute to the supervision and development of advanced trainees (including nurse endoscopists).
