About the Role

Right now, we're looking for a Registered Nurse with theatre experience behind them to become part of Operating Theatre team at Timaru Hospital.

• The service provides critical 24/7 services including, ED, ICU/CCU, General, Orthopaedic, & ENT Surgery, O&G, Psychiatry, Health of Older People, Oncology & Palliative Care, Internal Medicine, Paediatrics and Dental.
• Use your nursing knowledge and judgment to assess health needs, provide care, advice and support people to manage their health.
• Collaborate with a supportive and friendly team.
• Assist in multiple peri-operative scenarios, maintaining and practicing the highest level of patient care.

About you

• You will be a Registered Nurse with a current New Zealand Nursing Council (NZNC) Annual Practising Certificate 
• Previous Operating Theatre experience
• The ability to work under pressure using effective planning and prioritisation skills
• Knowledge and or experience of the Treaty of Waitangi Principles
• Be an effective communicator with colleagues, patients and their whanau/families
• Maintain a personal professional portfolio to meet the Professional Development Recognition Programme (PDRP) requirements of Heath New Zealand South Canterbury

Salary 

This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the Nursing Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
