About the role
Do you want to make a significant contribution to simulation and education for Starship Child Health, provide and promote simulation throughout the organisation? Do you currently work, or are you about to work as a Fellow in Starship and have an understanding of complex hospital systems? Join our team as the Douglas Starship Simulation Fellow in February 2027.
Mentoring would be provided to support you in the design, development, delivery, technical skills, debriefing, evaluation and review of simulation. You would support the faculty development, outreach and research projects.
It is anticipated the Douglas Starship Simulation Fellow would establish symbiotic simulation networks, explore a range of simulation related experiences to broaden horizons and promote excellence in education and investigative research.

About the Service/Team
The Douglas Starship Simulation Programme provides simulation education, training and resource both locally to the Starship Children`s Hospital and wider Aotearoa/New Zealand Paediatric services through an outreach programme. We are a multidisciplinary team with a background in acute paediatric clinical care and a passion for improving clinical care for our tamariki/children and whānau/families.

About you
To be considered for this role,
- You must be eligible for general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. If you are not currently registered in New Zealand and have overseas medical qualifications, you will be required to provide EPIC source verification of your qualifications for your registration application. - Postgraduate clinical exams completed
- Has paediatric experience
- Has some experience in simulation delivery
- Ideally, would have concurrent FTE in an acute care Starship clinical setting
