Consultant Radiologist (Breast Imaging)

Contract: Permanent, part time - 0.6 FTE (there are other part-time roles available within the Radiology teams that can be combined to make full time employment)

About the role
As our new Radiologist you will be providing consultant breast radiology services, which will facilitate the provision of appropriate high quality radiological services to the clinical specialities of Breast Screening Central and symptomatic breast services.
This includes an advisory and diagnostic service in all matters relating to radiological breast examinations, including determination of appropriate procedures, performing invasive diagnostic procedures, equipment evaluation, quality control, interpretation, advice and support to staff within Breast Screening and Symptomatic Breast Services staff.
You will be part of a dynamic and innovative department with a strong focus on ongoing quality improvement and positive relationships with clinical colleagues. Although the Hutt Breast Centre is separate from our main radiology department and the position is part time, a split role allowing for other radiology responsibilities can be facilitated.
About the Team/Service/ Location
Capital, Coast and Hutt Valley district is located centrally in Wellington and has over 6,000 full-time equivalent staff, making us one of the major employers in the Wellington region. We operate three hospitals - Wellington Regional Hospital in Newtown, Hutt Valley Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital in Porirua - as well as the Kāpiti Health Centre at Paraparaumu.
About you
- Vocationally registered in Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ)
- FRANZCR or equivalent qualification and be able to register for vocational registration with the MCNZ
- Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary team
- Able to provide consistently high standards of medical care
- Relevant experience and training
