About the Role
The Outpatient Booking Administrator helps keep the outpatient service running smoothly by providing fast, accurate, and flexible booking and administrative support.
In this role you will be responsible for booking appointments, managing waitlists and keeping patient records up to date in patient administration systems. You will work closely with other administrators and clinical teams to make sure clinics are scheduled and all patient requirements are met.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Ensuring referrals for the Medicine, Women's & Children's Outpatient Service[s] are receipted via Southern electronic systems, email, and mail, and processed daily
- Forward requests for required tests and/or scans to the appropriate department for action
- Monitor patient waitlists and any cases exceeding guidelines are escalated to the appropriate people
- Close waitlist entries upon completion of assigning patient to an appointment
- Manage in person enquiries efficiently and promptly

About you
Our ideal candidate will:
- At least two years administration and customer service experience
- Excellent computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team and foster good interpersonal relationships and a willingness to support and assist others
- Demonstrate an understanding of the significance of and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi, including how to apply Te Tiriti principles in a meaningful way in your role.
- Respectful of the privacy of individuals when dealing with personal information
