About the role
Queen Mary Maternity Unit at Dunedin Hospital is seeking Registered Midwives to join the team in casual, part-time or full-time roles.
Join our maternity team and make a meaningful difference for parents, babies, and their whānau. In this core midwifery role, you'll work across the full scope of practice in a supportive, women-centred environment where no two days are the same.
Based at Dunedin Hospital, you'll be part of a collaborative and experienced team delivering high-quality antenatal, labour and birth, and postnatal care. This is a role for a midwife who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and is committed to providing outstanding care.

At Queen Mary Maternity Unit, we're proud to support women and whānau from across our diverse region. Our team of dedicated midwives and health professionals work closely together to provide a safe, positive, and personalised birthing experience.
With around 1,800 births each year, we also have strong links with midwifery and medical education, contributing to the future of maternity care in New Zealand.

About You
We are looking for experienced midwives who have an exceptional commitment to quality care and enjoy being involved in a variety of tasks to ensure the very best care is provided at all times.
What you will bring:
- Registration as a Midwife with the NZMC and current Annual Practicing Certificate.
- Strong clinical and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- A commitment to providing high-quality, whānau-centred care.
- Adaptability and resilience to work in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Salary range
This role falls under the terms and conditions of the MERAS Midwives Collective Agreement (1 February 2024 – 30 April 2025), Registered (Core) Midwives Salary Scale, between Step 2 and Step 7, $82,642 to $108,008 per annum, pro rata.
