Demand & Supply Planner - Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology

About the Role
The Demand & Supply Planner supports the improvement of overall supply chain performance by delivering effective day‑to‑day supply chain planning and monitoring activities. It focuses on optimising stock on hand, enabling better utilisation of the supply chain through integrated planning and distribution, and reducing supply chain costs by minimising obsolescence.
About the Team/Service
The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.
About you
You are an experienced demand and supply planning professional with strong analytical capability and in‑depth knowledge of integrated supply chain operations. This role places a strong emphasis on leadership, personal accountability, and collaboration, alongside a demonstrated commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, health and safety, and the highest standards of professional integrity.
You will bring:
- 5–7 years' experience in demand and supply planning, ideally within medium to large organisations
- Advanced proficiency in analytical tools and systems including Oracle, Qlik, MS Excel, and MS Word
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and organisational skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement capability, with the ability to influence change and build relationships that support sustainable outcomes
- An analytical, solutions‑focused approach with a continuous improvement mindset
