About the Role
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Radiation Therapists to join our welcoming team in Palmerston North, New Zealand. We currently have full‑time permanent positions available but are flexible and happy to discuss working arrangements to suit your circumstances.
The Regional Cancer Treatment Service (RCTS) is the non‑surgical cancer treatment provider for the central North Island, serving a population of approximately 580,000 across MidCentral, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Whanganui and Wairarapa.
The RCTS has recently expanded to a multi campus treatment service with the successful opening of our Taranaki outreach site, providing treatment closer to home for patients, and we are actively planning for Hawke's Bay as the next stage of our regional expansion.
Joining RCTS now means becoming part of a service that is growing, evolving, and shaping the future of regional cancer care in New Zealand — with opportunities to be involved in service development, outreach work, and innovation over time as well as options to travel across the region
About the Team
RCTS is home to New Zealand's newest linear accelerator fleet (Varian TrueBeam), supported by a state‑of‑the‑art planning system (RayStation). We are proud of our strong culture of patient‑centred care, teamwork, and delivery of high‑quality radiation therapy for a diverse regional population.
You'll work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, including radiation therapists who have trained and worked both in New Zealand and internationally, making this a great environment for overseas clinicians transitioning into the NZ health system
About you
Applicants will need to:
- Be registered as a Radiation Therapist with the Medical Radiation Technologist Board of New Zealand (or be eligible to obtain registration)
- Hold, or be able to obtain, a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills and cultural competence
- Be proactive in their own professional development and support others
- Participate in service improvement and promote evidence‑based practice
Be flexible and willing to work across multiple locations when required
