About the Role
We currently have an outstanding opportunity for 2 Fellows in Gynae Oncology to join our dedicated and values driven team in the Gynae Oncology department each on a 12-month fixed term basis (A shorter 6-month term may be considered)
Both posts are recognised for RANZCOG CGO training.
This role provides: -
- The opportunity to develop to train in Gynaecological Oncology and develop comprehensive operative and clinical skills.
- Opportunity to contribute to research and audit within the Gynae Oncology team
- Opportunity to be involved in evidence-based teaching of students and hospital staff including RMOs and nurses
- Opportunity to obtain accreditation in colposcopy
- Opportunity to develop skills in management of complex preinvasive vaginal and vulval disease including reconstruction

About you
The ideal person will:
- Have current New Zealand Medical Council registration or be eligible to obtain NZMC Registration
- Be accepted on the RANZCOG CGO subspecialty training programme. Non accredited applicants (RANZCOG advanced trainees) will be considered in the absence of CGO applicants
- Have excellent communication skills
- Be motivated and willing to contribute to a busy unit
- Intend to pursue a career in gynaecological oncology
About the Team/Service/ Location
Positioned in the centre of Auckland, one of the worlds most liveable cities, National Women's Health (NWH) provides subspecialty services in Gynaecological Oncology, Maternal Fetal Medicine, Urogynaecology, and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. The hospital has a close association with the Auckland University Faculty of Health Sciences and has a leading role in research, undergraduate teaching and post graduate training.
The Gynaecological Oncology team at Te Toka Tumai leads a regional multidisciplinary service providing comprehensive gynaecological oncology care to patients referred from local and tertiary referrers in the upper third of the North Island, covering a catchment population of over 2.8 million with over 600 new cancers per year.
There is strong collaboration between the Cancer Centre service and regional referring units to ensure all women have equity in access to comprehensive care for Gynae cancer.
