About the Role
This role, known internally as the Contract Launch Manager, is a newly created role within our Regional Partnership teams and a key opportunity for Health New Zealand to optimise the wide range of clinical products used across our hospitals. Sitting at the centre of this work, the role translates national agreements into meaningful regional outcomes. It is critical to delivering savings, improving patient outcomes, and ensuring the successful adoption of clinical product changes.
In this role, you will:
- Implement commercial opportunities across Health New Zealand districts
- Support clinical product optimisation aligned to national agreements
- Analyse data to identify high‑impact opportunities
- Partner with clinicians, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Coordinate product changes and transitions
- Drive stakeholder engagement and adoption
- Deliver sustainable clinical and commercial outcomes
About the Team/Service
The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.
About you
You are a strategic thinker with strong sales experience, a commercial mindset, and a genuine passion for improving healthcare delivery. With a proven ability to influence stakeholders, build trusted relationships, and lead change, you're confident navigating complex environments and driving initiatives that deliver measurable results.
Your background may include experience in sales, product management, supply chain, procurement, or health technology. You're comfortable working across both clinical and non‑clinical teams to implement product changes that enhance patient outcomes while delivering cost efficiencies. Highly organised and analytical, you're a confident communicator who can develop compelling business cases, coordinate cross‑functional activity, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
Above all, you're motivated by making a meaningful contribution to the health sector and supporting a system that delivers better care for all New Zealanders.
What you'll bring
- At least 5 years' experience in a role requiring strong influence and relationship management, ideally within clinical product, equipment, or pharmaceutical sales
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, project delivery, and financial benefit realisation
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- A sound understanding of the health environment and clinical products (desirable)
- A tertiary qualification in science, business, or a related field
