About the Role

Shape the future of Child Health in Te Tai Tokerau, join our dedicated Child Health team as a Nurse Practitioner and make a lasting difference for tamariki and whānau across Northland.

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Child Health Centre team at Whangārei Hospital. Working both autonomously and collaboratively, you will provide advanced assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management for tamariki, helping to improve health outcomes and reduce inequities across Northland.

Alongside delivering expert clinical care, you will provide leadership, mentorship and support to develop nursing practice and strengthen a positive, highly skilled workforce.

About the Team

The Child Health Centre provides specialist paediatric outpatient services for children and young people across Northland. Our service includes paediatrician-led, nurse-led and allied health clinics, working together to deliver whānau-centred care.

We are committed to reducing health inequities for Māori and improving the health and wellbeing of tamariki throughout our region. You'll join a welcoming team that values collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate as a Nurse Practitioner.
• A completed clinical Master's degree and at least four years' experience in your area of practice
• A commitment to lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
• Strong research, critical appraisal, data analysis and clinical audit skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A genuine passion for working with tamariki and their whānau.
• An interest or experience in allergy management is desirable.
