About the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to meet the needs of service users and their family/whānau using contemporary care, which is safe, appropriate and effective. The care is based on comprehensive assessment, ensures continuity, and tangata whai i te ora centred, culturally sensitive and evidence based. You will provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment in collaboration with the tangata whai i te ora, their family/whānau and carers and the multidisciplinary team to promote recovery.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Ihi Ora is a Community Mental Health services provide a range of services for adults with moderate to severe mental illness or psychological distress. Services are provided via multi-disciplinary teams which include psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, occupational therapists, social workers.

About you
To be successful in this role:
You will be vocationally registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand with a current Practising Certificate.
You will also have experience and interest in providing a high-quality service to service users experiencing moderate to severe mental ill-health in a community setting and a commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for Māori is essential in this role.
You will also hold a full and clean drivers license as this role involves some community work.
