About the Role
In this fast‑paced and detail‑oriented role, you will:
- Maintain accurate surgical waiting lists in line with national booking guidelines
- Coordinate patient bookings for pre‑admission and surgery within agreed timeframes
- Work closely with consultants to resolve any issues relating to waiting lists
- Ensure theatre capacity is used efficiently through timely scheduling
- Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with patients and whānau
This position is central to ensuring a smooth and supportive patient journey throughout the planned care process.

You will be joining a supportive administrative team within the Surgical Services department at MidCentral. Our team works collaboratively to deliver high‑quality patient‑focused service.

About you
You will bring:
- Proven administration or booking‑related experience, ideally in a health setting
- Excellent communication and professional telephone skills
- Strong computer literacy and accurate data entry capability
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
- Commitment to confidentiality, privacy, and quality service delivery
- Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how to apply its principles in practice
- Flexibility, resilience, and strong teamwork skills
Desirable: Experience with hospital patient management systems such as WebPAS.
