About the Role
As a Speech Language Therapist, you will provide safe and clinically effective patient assessment and intervention within the Guidelines for Expectations for Professional Practice (GEPP). You will deliver safe, effective and innovative care that is in person and whānau centred.

About the Team/Service/ Location
The Adult Speech Language Therapy team is involved in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of difficulties with communication and swallowing in people over the age of 16. This role will provide inpatient and outpatient services at Kaitaia Hospital and in community settings across the Far North area. The 20 bed hospital has a general ward, maternity and emergency ward with all the supporting services, and provides a substantial community health service.

About you
We are looking for an experienced Speech Language Therapist who builds strong, effective relationships and is committed to delivering safe, highquality, whānaucentred care. You will have the ability to demonstrate leadership and have a focus on quality improvement and show innovation in your clinical practice.
- Recognised tertiary qualification in Speech and Language Therapy
- New Zealand Registration and current annual practising certificate with responsible authority
- Membership with NZ Speech Language Therapists Association (NZSTA)
- Current NZ Full Drivers Licence
- Computer skills, including use of Microsoft Suite and relevant clinical programs
- Works effectively and collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
Previous experience in a rural setting would be beneficial, however is not essential to apply. Youll join a supportive multidisciplinary team where your expertise is valued, and youll have opportunities to grow your clinical practice while making a meaningful difference for people and whānau across the Far North.
