About the Role
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Ward A1 Respiratory/Medical team on a fixedterm contract to cover parental leave. This is an excellent opportunity to step into a varied, rewarding role where you will provide nursing care to patients experiencing a range of acute and chronic respiratory and medical conditions.
Youll carry out comprehensive assessments, plan and implement evidencebased care, monitor patient progress, and work closely with patients and their whānau to support understanding, recovery and ongoing health needs. Youll ensure accurate documentation and safe use of clinical tools such as TrendCare, contribute to safe staffing through VRM, and actively support a safe and supportive care environment.
This fixedterm role allows you to gain valuable experience in a highperforming team while providing important continuity of care during the parental leave period.

About the Team/Service/ Location
Ward A1 at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital is a dynamic Respiratory/Medical ward where teamwork, communication and cultural safety underpin everything we do.
Youll join a multidisciplinary team of nurses, healthcare assistants, doctors, allied health staff and the Professional Development Unit. The team works collaboratively across the organisation to ensure seamless, whānaucentred care and a positive patient experience.

About you
You are a dedicated, adaptable and patientfocused Registered Nurse who enjoys working within a busy medical environment. You bring sound clinical judgement, a positive attitude and a commitment to providing highquality care.
You will have:
- Current Nursing Council of NZ registration and APC
- Experience applying Te Tiriti o Waitangi in practice
- Strong communication, teamwork and clinical decisionmaking skills
- Effective timemanagement and prioritisation abilities
- IV designation
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of professional practice
Desired:
- A PDRP portfolio
- At least 3 years of respiratory or medical nursing experience (or a passion to develop in this specialty)
- Skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, PICC competency, catheter insertion and/or bladder scanning
You bring selfawareness, resilience and a professional approach, and are motivated to contribute positively to teamwork and patient outcomes.
