About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Clinical Transcriptionist to join our Anatomical Pathology team at LabPlus. This position involves transcription of macroscopy and microscopy for Anatomical Pathology reports as well as other medical secretary tasks such as managing correspondence to and from pathologists including typing and filing, co-ordinating of slides and reports for multidisciplinary meetings, managing bookings for FNA procedures, responding to external and internal requests for slides and blocks as well as general office management and miscellaneous tasks. This role is based at Auckland City Hospital working Monday to Friday.

About the Team/Service/ Location
LabPLUS is an IANZ accredited medical laboratory and is one of New Zealand's premier laboratories. LabPLUS are part of the state-owned Auckland District Health Board. We offer a comprehensive pathology service for Auckland City Hospital, Starship Childrens Hospital, National Women's Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre. The Anatomical Pathology Department is a major referral laboratory comprising of Histology, Cytology and Electron Microscopy. We work with other external hospitals from around New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. This means we report on a broad range of specimens and to service this diversity we have an experienced team with specialist knowledge. We are fortunate to have a large number of Consultant Pathologists with considerable experience. We also have a very proficient Scientific and Technical staff all working together to provide a quality service.

- Fast (minimum of 60wpm) and accurate touch-typing skills
- Winscribe experience
- Excellent command of the English language
- Attention to detail, initiative and organisation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to take on a variety of duties as required
- High level of computer knowledge
- Previous typist experience
