About the Role
As a Registered Nurse within the Hyperacute Stroke & Neurology Unit, youll be part of a highperforming team delivering specialised, timely, and lifesaving care to patients experiencing acute neurological events. Youll use your clinical expertise to carry out comprehensive assessments, develop and implement nursing care plans, monitor patient progress, and support whānau with clear communication and education. This is a role where critical thinking, compassion, and fast, effective decisionmaking are essential.
Youll work in a dynamic environment where nursing knowledge, evidencebased practice and teamwork come together to maximise patient safety and recovery. About the Team/Service/ Location
The Hyperacute Stroke & Neurology Unit is located at Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital and brings together a dedicated multidisciplinary team focused on delivering highquality neurological and stroke care. As part of this service, youll work alongside nurses, allied health professionals, medical staff, and wider organisational teams who are committed to high standards, safety, collaboration, and continuous learning.

About you
Youll be an enthusiastic, adaptable and patientcentred Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering safe and effective care. You will bring:
- Current New Zealand Nursing Council registration and annual practising certificate.
- Strong timemanagement skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to providing compassionate, culturally safe care.
- A positive, proactive approach with a desire to learn and grow in a specialist clinical environment.
- An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to equitable outcomes for Māori.
Desirable:
- Prior experience in neurological or acute care settings.
- A PDRP portfolio (or willingness to work towards one).
