Administration Team Leader Thames

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced senior administrator with team leadership or management experience to join us at Thames Hospital as the Administration Team Leader. We are looking for a dedicated and motivated individual to collaborate with the Administration Manager & Senior Management Team to provide exceptional administrative services.
This role is onsite at Thames Hospital and reporting to the Waikato Rural and Community Administration Manager and is part of the Waikato Rural Hospitals wider non-clinical team.

The purpose of the role is to:
- Provide regular direction, assignment and organisation of work, and the monitoring of staff performance.
- Achieve assigned goals by planning, implementing, staffing, and providing technical assistance.
- Develop plans to achieve short-term goals associated with coordinating workflow.
- Have direct accountability/responsibility for the leadership of a team of administrators in work assignments, providing supervision and is responsible for the allocation, direction and monitoring of work while exercising team leadership and coaching.
- Be responsible for the teams annual performance reviews; leave management; disciplinary and grievance matters; recruitment and selection decisions; personal and career development; departmental workload and allocation (the allocation and re-allocation of blocks of work or responsibilities for areas of activity, not only the allocation of tasks to individuals).
- Be part of the on-call roster to ensure staffing gaps are managed.

About the Team/Service
The Thames administration team covers a wide variety of departments within the hospital and community services. The current team is made up of administrators, receptionists and booking clerks that are integral in the support functions to ensure safe quality driven care is delivered.
To be effective and succeed in this role it is expected the person will have proven capabilities against the Leading Others leadership focus. A person with this leadership focus will hold formal leadership accountabilities and are responsible for displaying leadership character and driving service delivery within their role and team.
About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:
- A relevant graduate and/or post-graduate qualification or at least 5 years experience in a similar role.
- Experience with providing administrative and business support functions and dealing with people from all backgrounds and health disciplines.
- Experience and genuine interest in managing successful teams.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Proven competence with Microsoft Office Suite / data entry / typing.
- Genuine interest in providing excellent customer service.
- Self-reliant and proactive with an enabling and helpful demeanour.
- Administration experience in a large organisation.
- An understanding of the NZ Health targets.
- Hold a valid NZ driving.
