About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a RN with an interest in clinical research to join the RCTS Clinical Trials Unit, at Palmerston North Hospital covering the disciplines of Radiation Oncology, Clinical Haematology and Medical Oncology.
This role offers the opportunity to be involved in the cancer treatment development process through Clinical Trials. The role will involve patient recruitment to Clinical Trials, staff and patient education, patient assessments, investigations, clinical nursing, administering investigational drugs (including chemotherapy) or treatment modalities, data collection and reporting as well and ongoing study coordination of the Clinical Trials. The successful applicant will work closely with patients and the multidisciplinary team and external sponsors.
This is a 1.0 FTE position covering paid parental leave working Monday - Friday, 8am - 4.30pm.
About You
We are looking for a dynamic and resilient nurse with proven skills in the following areas:
- Broad nursing experience (minimum of 2 years)
- Has an interest in working in clinical research
- Excellent interpersonal and working relationships
- Attention to detail and well organised
- Sound written communication
- Computer skills
Previous clinical trial experience and/or blood and cancer nursing would be an advantage however education and training will be provided to the successful applicant.
