About the Role
The Department of Anatomical Pathology at LabPLUS, Auckland Hospital (www.labplus.co.nz) is seeking an experienced scientist to lead our Histopathology Dissection (Cut-Up) team. You will need to be a motivated and experienced Senior Scientist with excellent people skills ready to lead our award winning team.

About the Service
LabPLUS is an IANZ accredited medical laboratory and is one of New Zealand's premier laboratories. We offer a comprehensive pathology service for Auckland City Hospital, Starship Childrens Hospital, National Women's Health, and the Greenlane Clinical Centre. LabPLUS is also a major referral laboratory for specialised laboratory tests for New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. Visit our website www.labplus.co.nz for more information.
The Anatomical Pathology Department is a major referral laboratory comprising of several disciplines. These include Histology, Non-gynae Cytology and Electron Microscopy. We work with other external hospitals from around New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. This means we report on a broad range of specimens and to service this diversity we have an experienced team with specialist knowledge. We are fortunate to have a large number of Consultant Pathologists with considerable experience. We also have a very proficient Scientific and Technical team all working together to provide a quality service.
Our methods, training, expertise and knowledge conform to the highest standards expected by our peers and the community at large. We enjoy a close association with the University of Auckland Medical School and participate in external Quality Assurance Programmes

About you
You must be registered or be eligible for registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Sciences Council http://www.mscouncil.org.nz/
We are seeking an experienced Medical Laboratory Scientist with:
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Medical Sciences Council of New Zealand (see www.mscouncil.org.nz)
- Previous experience in histology (essential)
- Experience in dissection (essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, team-focused approach
- A commitment to quality, accuracy, and patient outcomes
