Step into a consultant role within our dynamic Emergency Department at Whangārei Hospital, the primary referral centre for the 170,000 people of Northland. You will join a collegiate and supportive team of 21 SMOs, making a tangible impact on health outcomes for a high-needs, high-Māori population.
The Emergency Department provides emergency services for the entire district across Whangārei Hospital as well as our three regional hospitals in Kaitaia, Dargaville and the Bay of Islands.
Our department sees 50,000 plus presentations annually, with a significant paediatric component (25%).
We are accredited by ACEM for 24 months of Advanced Training and Paediatric Logbook Training. Play a key role in shaping the next generation of emergency doctors by guiding our successful Part 1 and Part 2 trainees.

About you
You are a dedicated Emergency Physician who is passionate about providing high-quality care and fostering a positive team environment. To be considered, you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in an Emergency Medicine vocational scope.
