Te Waipounamu Diagnostics Production Planner
- Fixed Term: 18 Months | Full-Time 40 hour Per week 1.0 FTE
- Location: Te Waipounamu (South Island) Flexible working across Te Waipounamu.
Te Waipounamu Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Production Planner to support the delivery of diagnostic services across Te Waipounamu. This role is central to improving service performance, reducing waitlists, and ensuring equitable access to radiology and cancer diagnostics.
About the Role
You will lead regional planning and analytics to support the Diagnostic Boost Programme and the Regional Radiology Service Delivery Plan, with a focus on radiology, echocardiogram, and angiogram services. Your work will guide service transformation, investment, and operational improvements across Te Waipounamu, enabling smarter, more equitable care.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering complex analytics to support strategic health service planning.
- Providing clarity on demand, capacity, and constraints across diagnostic services.
- Supporting regional coordination and transformation of service delivery.
- Advising on workforce, infrastructure, and outsourcing strategies.
- Driving continuous improvement and linking planning to budget and investment decisions.
- Supporting Māori-led and Pacific-led responses to improve equity in access and outcomes.
Essential:
- A relevant graduate and post-graduate qualification.
- 10+ years' experience in health service planning, production planning, or infrastructure planning.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proven experience in using data to drive strategic decisions and performance improvement.
- Deep understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and equity in health.
- Knowledge of the public and private diagnostic environment, including radiology and cancer services.
