About the Role
Are you looking for the next step in your Occupational Therapy career? Join our dedicated Allied Health Inpatient Rehabilitation Team in a new Advanced Practitioner role, based in the inpatient rehabilitation ward at Hawkes Bay Hospital. You will work in partnership with the Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist and wider Allied Health Team, providing clinical leadership and service improvement, enabling high quality and equitable care for patients and their whānau.
About the Team/Service/ Location
You will be part of a diverse and supportive wider team of acute and subacute Occupational Therapists and rehab clinicians. We value continued professional development, mentoring, supervision and on-going training. You will have access to regular in-service training, special interest working groups and learning opportunities to develop your clinical and leadership skills.

About you
You will have advanced clinical skills in the area of inpatient rehabilitation, alongside confidence with processes and practices to maximse therapy and support equitable outcomes for patients. Bring your passion for rehab and capability to lead and drive service improvement for occupational therapy and the wider allied health team.
You will also require,
- Current New Zealand Occupational Therapy Registration and APC.
- Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth
- Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
