About the Role
As a Nurse Educator, you will promote, facilitate and provide clinical education to maximise health care delivery, enhance patient outcomes, and promote clinical excellence and evidence-based professional nursing practice. Primary functions include liaison with departmental staff in identifying clinical education needs, facilitating and providing department-based learning programs, act as an expert clinical resource. This role will also be responsible for ensuring mandatory training is completed for all staff.
Whangarei Hospital has 9 operating theatres with the following specialities:
- Orthopaedics
- General Surgery
- ENT
- Ophthalmology
- Gynaecology
- Urology
- Acute/Trauma
- Dental

About you
As a Nurse Educator, you will have the ability to work independently, as well as, the ability to be an excellent team player while encouraging teamwork and cooperation with a positive attitude.
- New Zealand Registered Nurse with current practicing certificate
- Relevant Post Graduate Diploma
- Designated Senior Nurse PDRP or Expert PDRP (demonstrating clinical examples)
- At least 7 years post registration experience
- At least 4 years experience in relevant specialty area
- Clinical teaching experience
- Certificate in Adult/Clinical Teaching
