About the role
Be part of a close-knit team of 6 registrars and 13 consultants, with exposure to a wide range of cases.
Cases include the following:
- Orthopaedic arthroplasty and trauma
- Urology and colorectal surgery
- Obstetrics
- Visiting specialties including ENT, plastic, paediatric specialist surgery, and spinal
- Exposure to critical care when required
You will:
- provide elective and emergency services to the community, as well as acute pain management for patients following surgery, trauma, or during labour
- have one year of accredited training at any level for ANZCA trainees
- work in a modern facility providing healthcare to a large geographical area, ensuring exposure to a wide range of work
- have 24/7 access to the library, weekly teaching and grand rounds, journal clubs, regular RMO forums, and exposure to a range of presentations to build a broad skill base.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for general or provisional general registration. You can check your eligibility at the MCNZ website
- a minimum of two years' post-qualification experience
- at least 12 months of anaesthesia experience.
It is a requirement of the Medical Council of New Zealand that your qualifications are approved through EPIC.
