Medical Transcriptionist - General Surgery

About the role
This role provides high-quality transcription and administrative support to ensure efficient service delivery, with accurate documentation completed within target timeframes.
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- transcribing dictated documentation using transcription software, ensuring timely and accurate turnaround
- completing transcription tasks within agreed timeframes and uploading or dispatching documents to the correct stakeholders promptly
- reviewing spelling, grammar, and formatting of transcribed documents to ensure accuracy and high quality
- verifying patient information throughout the transcription process to ensure clinical documents are accurate and up to date
- maintaining and protecting patient information in compliance with the Health Information Privacy Code under the Privacy Act.

About you
Our ideal candidate will have:
- at least two years of administrative experience
- a high standard of written and verbal communication skills
- knowledge of office systems and procedures
- strong literacy and numeracy skills
- excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook (email)
- touch typing skills with a speed above 65 words per minute
- strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
