About the role
Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager will:
- lead and manage the services within their area of responsibility to provide an efficient, effective and safe service within the available resources
- ensure contemporary Models of Care are implemented and evaluated in response to the changing needs of the community and health system
- carry out other delegated projects or tasks.
This role will work in partnership with service management, medical, allied health and other staff and contribute to strategic and operational management in a way that is consistent with Health New Zealand priorities.

About you
You will be an experienced Senior Registered Nurse with proven Nurse leadership experience.
Our ideal candidate will:
- have a relevant post-graduate qualification at master's level (or working towards completion) or equivalency
- have previous operational management and leadership experience
- be an excellent communicator with strong leadership skills and a high level of interpersonal skills
- have excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
- have knowledge of the health and disability sector
- have proven experience in budgeting and staffing management
- have the ability to "work together" in a helpful and truthful manner
- have strong written and verbal communication skills.
