About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Business Analyst to join our Planning & Improvement team and play a key role in supporting the Funding and Integration teams across the Central Region. In this role, you'll lead business analysis, deliver data-driven insights, and connect national and regional teams to drive strategic decisions and service improvements. You'll help shape investment outcomes, contribute to business cases and funding proposals, and ensure health equity is embedded in analytical work from the start.
About the Team
The Planning, Funding & Outcomes team commissions primary, community, and mental health services across the Central Region, supporting investment decisions through service design, procurement, and performance monitoring. We also work across the system to integrate hospital and community care, shifting services closer to home through new models of care.
About you
You're an experienced and insightful analyst with a passion for turning data into meaningful action. With a strong background in varied environments—ideally across healthcare, public sector, or commissioning—you bring a mix of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of health equity. You're confident engaging with stakeholders, translating complex insights into compelling narratives, and mentoring others to grow analytical capability across the team. You're also committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi and applying its principles meaningfully in your work.
You will have:
- A relevant tertiary or professional qualification
- 5-10 years of experience across varied environments
- Proven analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, including facilitation and negotation
- Experience in healthcare, public sector, or commissioning environment
- Understanding of data governance, business intelligence, or health informatics
