About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Advisor who can help build and strengthen our emergency management capability across Health NZ. You'll be responsible for developing practical tools, frameworks, and reporting systems that help us track how we're doing and where we can improve. This role is all about turning strategy into action, supporting continuous improvement, and making sure we're aligned with national and international standards.
About the Team
This role sits within the Health, Wellbeing, Safety & Organisational Resilience team in the People & Culture team You'll be part of a national network of emergency management professionals, working closely with district leads and regional teams to strengthen our emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
About you
You're a confident advisor with a strong background in assurance, evaluation, and governance. You know how to turn strategy into practical tools and reports, and you're comfortable working in complex environments where collaboration and continuous improvement are key.
You will have:
- Significant experience developing and applying assurance frameworks, evaluation tools, or governance reporting in large organisations
- The ability to translate strategy or policy into practical systems, standards, and reporting processes
- Strong analytical and drafting skills, with experience preparing reports and frameworks for senior leaders
- Experience capturing and analysing lessons from assurance activities, exercises, or operational events
- A solid understanding of emergency management principles and frameworks e.g. CIMS
