About the Role
The National Coordinator provides emergency management coordination support to the Group Manager, Emergency Management & Business Continuity, contributing to the delivery of key EM services nationally, regionally, and at district level. You'll assist with planning and coordination activities, including scheduling meetings, workshops, and events, while maintaining accurate documentation, records, and databases. You'll also support internal and external communication efforts to ensure smooth and effective engagement across stakeholders.
About the Team/Service/ Location
This role sits within the Health, Wellbeing, Safety & Organisational Resilience team in the People & Culture team and reports to the Group Manager Emergency Management and Business Continuity. You'll be part of a national network of emergency management professionals, working closely with district leads and regional teams to strengthen our emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
About you
You'll have at least three years' experience in a coordinator role, with strong organisational and administrative skills across scheduling, record keeping, and financial processes. You're confident using Microsoft Office tools (and ideally PowerBI), and bring excellent communication and customer service skills, along with a working knowledge of project environments and emergency response. Experience in government settings and formal project management training (e.g., PRINCE2) would be desirable.
- Demonstrate an understanding of office procedures and an ability to think ahead, use initiative, prioritise, and deliver work on time to a required standard.
- Demonstrate planning, organising, attention to detail, well organised, able to complete tasks on time
- Some experience in being in an emergency response situation
- Preference for experience in working in a project / programme environment and therefore a working knowledge of project management methodologies and practices.
