Coordinator - Resident Doctors Support Services
- 12-month fixed term, full-time
- Work from where you are
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders. We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations - from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities. Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
The purpose of the Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) Coordinator role is to support implementation of the RDSS work programme, working with RDSS Leads on initiatives to improve the training, education and employment pathway of Resident Medical Officers (RMOs) in the New Zealand health system.
The role will also lead the coordination of a streamlined expense management process, managing bulk payments of training costs for RMOs nationally.
About the Service
The Resident Doctors Support Service (RDSS) supports the efficient delivery of a well‑trained medical workforce for today and into the future. Our small national team works closely with a strong network of local Resident Medical Officer (RMO) units to support resident doctors throughout their training, education and employment journey.
About you
You bring at least three years' experience providing high-level support and coordination in complex business environments, where you've successfully juggled multiple stakeholders and competing priorities across a range of activities. You're someone who thrives under pressure, managing tight deadlines and shifting demands with calm efficiency and a solutions-focused approach.
You're trusted to handle highly confidential, private, and occasionally distressing information with discretion and sensitivity. Your strong sense of integrity and professionalism ensures that confidentiality is always maintained, no matter the situation.
Detail-oriented and methodical, you're confident working with large datasets and enjoy transforming information into meaningful reporting metrics that support decision-making. Your ability to spot trends, ensure accuracy, and stay organised makes you a valuable asset in any fast-paced team.
Experience in HR or in roles working with RMOs would be beneficial.
