About the Role
As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you'll take overall responsibility for the finance function across allocated directorates, providing both strategic and operational financial leadership within a large and complex healthcare environment. You'll work closely with Directors, General Managers, and clinical leaders to support informed decision-making, strengthen financial performance, and ensure services are financially sustainable and aligned with organisational priorities.
This is a varied and influential role where you'll lead budgeting and forecasting processes, deliver high-quality financial reporting and analysis, and provide expert advice on business planning, risk management, and operational performance. You'll also play a key role in identifying opportunities for improvement, supporting major projects and investment decisions, and driving continuous improvement across financial systems and processes. Alongside this, you'll lead and develop a finance team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing culture focused on delivering value and supporting better outcomes for patients and communities.

About you
As an experienced finance leader, you'll bring strong commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and the ability to build trusted relationships across complex environments.
- Be a current Health New Zealand employee.
- A relevant tertiary qualification.
- Extensive senior financial management experience, including business partnering with operational leaders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience supporting strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level.
- Proven leadership experience, including developing high-performing teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Chartered Accountant status is preferred.
