About the Role
In this Senior Financial Analyst role, you will provide expert financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and contracting support to the wider Regional PFO services team. You'll play a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information that supports strategic decision-making, operational performance, and effective financial and contract management.
Working in a complex and fast-paced environment, you'll be involved in a wide range of activities including budget development, scenario planning, provider payment management, procurement planning, audit support, financial reconciliations, forecasting, and investment analysis. You'll also support the configuration and management of budgeting systems while helping to drive consistency, integrity, and continuous improvement across reporting and financial processes.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Programme Managers, Regional Service Managers, and senior stakeholders, providing valuable insights and advice that help shape both short and long-term financial strategies.
About the Team/Service
The PFO Finance and Contracting team plays a critical role in supporting the financial sustainability and operational performance of regional health services. The team works collaboratively across a broad range of stakeholders to provide trusted financial advice, high-quality reporting, and effective contract and payment management that supports better outcomes for communities.

About you
You are a highly analytical and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and thrives on solving complex problems. You'll bring strong financial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate data into meaningful insights that support informed decision-making.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance
- At least 3–5 years' experience in a similar finance or analytical role within a large organisation
- Strong experience in financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and reporting
- Advanced analytical capability and confidence working with large and complex data sets
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain financial information to a range of audiences
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with sound judgement
- Experience preparing reconciliations, accruals, and supporting month-end processes
- The ability to build strong working relationships across teams and stakeholders
- A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development
Ideally, you will also bring knowledge of the health sector and government environment, along with experience using systems such as FPIM and QLIK.
