Executive Assistant
- Permanent, full-time position based in Hamilton.
- Partner with senior leaders at the heart of healthcare transformation in Aotearoa.
- A high-trust, high-impact role where your judgement, organisation, and professionalism will truly make a difference.
Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is the country's largest employer, delivering universal public healthcare to 5 million New Zealanders.
We provide essential hospital, specialist, and community health services across 80+ locations — from large urban centres to rural towns and remote communities.
Our goal is to improve health outcomes for all New Zealanders by delivering equitable, accessible and innovative care.
About the Role
As an Executive Assistant, you'll provide high-trust, proactive support to the Regional Programme Director, Hospital & Specialist Service Priorities and the Deputy Chief Financial Officer. This is not your typical EA role — you'll operate as a true partner, managing complexity, aligning priorities, and enabling both leaders to perform at their best across strategic and operational demands.
You'll take ownership of diary and inbox management, balancing competing priorities while protecting executive capacity. You'll anticipate issues, coordinate workflows, and ensure seamless communication across multiple portfolios and stakeholders. From preparing high-quality briefings and presentations to coordinating executive-level meetings and committees, your ability to think ahead, exercise sound judgement, and maintain absolute discretion will be critical. This role sits at the centre of a fast-moving environment, where your impact will be both visible and valued.
About you
As an experienced Executive Assistant, you'll bring strong judgement, exceptional organisational skills, and the confidence to operate at a senior executive level.
- Extensive experience supporting senior executives in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, competing demands, and high levels of ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing executive-level documentation.
- Advanced proficiency across Microsoft Office tools, including managing complex calendars and workflows.
- High level of professionalism, discretion, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
