About the Role
Our radiology service is committed to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging to support patient care. We offer strong opportunities for training, skill development, and longer-term career progression.
In this role, you'll work within busy hospital imaging environments, gaining hands-on experience while developing your skills under the guidance and supervision of experienced Medical Imaging Technologists and clinical leaders. You will perform a wide range of imaging procedures across acute, planned, inpatient, and outpatient settings.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing a range of diagnostic imaging examinations appropriate to your level of practice
- Supporting the day-to-day coordination of workloads across general imaging services
- Ensuring patients are imaged in line with clinical priorities and referral timeframes
- Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical and support teams to deliver safe, patient-centred care.
About the Team/Service
Allied Health, Scientific and Technical (AHS&T) professionals, such as Medical Imaging Technologists, work in health care teams providing a range of diagnostic, technical, therapeutic and direct patient care and support services that are critical to the other health professionals they work with and the communities they serve.

About you
We're looking for motivated graduates who are eager to learn, adaptable, and passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care. You'll be confident in applying your radiographic knowledge in a clinical setting, while continuing to develop your skills with the support of experienced colleagues.
You will bring:
- A recognised New Zealand medical imaging qualification, completed within the last 12 months or nearing completion
- Eligibility for registration with the Medical Radiation Technologists Board (MRTB), with the ability to hold a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) upon commencement
- Sound knowledge of diagnostic radiography, including radiographic positioning, anatomical knowledge, and safe operation of imaging equipment
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of image quality, patient safety, and professionalism
- Strong communication, organisation, and time‑management skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A proactive, positive approach to learning, problem‑solving, and developing clinical confidence
- A commitment to cultural competence, whether you're already confident in te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or beginning your journey
You'll also participate in our 24/7 rostered service, including on‑call duties, with appropriate support, helping ensure patients receive timely care when they need it most.
