About the Role
We have an opportunity available to join our regional Te Manawa Taki team based in Tauranga as a Registered Nurse – Public Health Communicable Diseases. This part-time (0.5FTE) permanent role will see you provide nursing input to the Compliance and Health Protection Team based in Tauranga to manage communicable diseases, including case and contact management, outbreak investigation, control, and support prevention.
This opportunity will allow you to lead or support upstream health promotion and disease prevention initiatives that enable individuals, whānau and communities to protect themselves from the impact of communicable diseases, with a particular focus on Pae Ora and achieving equity of access, treatment, and outcomes.

This position is based in Tauranga.
About you
You have proven experience as a Registered Nurse and can use your nursing knowledge and judgement to apply whānau-centred, holistic, innovative nursing care to meet the needs of patients, whānau and communities. You are also able to participate in education, quality assurance, and policy development.
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate with the Nursing Council of New Zealand
- A relevant graduate qualification.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- A clean and current Full NZ driver's license.
- Competent computer literacy including Microsoft packages.
- At least one years' postgraduate nursing experience
- Current authorised vaccinator status is highly desired
