About the Role
The Advisor, Digital Communications plays a key role in supporting Health New Zealand's digital presence across websites and online platforms. The role focuses on creating, maintaining, and optimising high-quality, accessible digital content and experiences that help people find, understand, and act on information about our health services.
This position combines digital communication and content design expertise with practical platform and governance skills. The Advisor works collaboratively across teams to ensure that digital channels are strategically managed, compliant, culturally responsive, and user-centred.
The role contributes to Health New Zealand's goal of building public confidence by ensuring information is accurate, accessible, and aligned with the organisation's digital strategy and the Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) vision.
About you
You're an experienced digital communications professional with at least three years' experience in web content design, digital communications, or platform optimisation within a large or complex organisation. You understand how to create engaging, user-focused content and optimise digital experiences to meet audience needs.
You apply accessibility, usability, and human-centred design principles to everything you do, ensuring digital content is inclusive and easy to navigate. You're comfortable working within digital governance frameworks and using content management systems to maintain consistency and quality.
You build strong relationships across teams and enjoy working with others to achieve shared goals. Your written and verbal communication skills set you apart. you have an excellent eye for clarity, tone, and detail, and a genuine passion for creating accessible, effective digital content.
