About the Role
The Optimisation Project Manager is a key delivery role within the Digital Services team, responsible for the project and delivery management and coordination of optimisation efforts (primarily relating to workforce optimisation, with associated work on process and efficiency activities) within Digital Services, with additional emphasis on process and efficiency improvements. This role drives the planning, execution, and communication of resource and workforce optimisation projects, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and timely delivery of outcomes. Working closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership, the Optimisation Project Manager plays a vital role in enhancing operational performance, building capability, and delivering measurable benefits through targeted resource and workforce improvement initiatives.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Optimisation Project Manager reports into the Group Manager Digital Services Resource Optimisation and sits within the Business Services team which forms part of the wider Digital Services function with over 1,800 permanent staff and contractors. Business Services role is to support the efficient operation of Digital Services and manages key interfaces with other Health New Zealand's corporate and enabling functions. The team leads continuous improvement and service optimisation, provides centralised operational and administrative support, manages risk across IT operations and delivery, and maintains strong partnerships with functions such as HR, Finance, Procurement, and Communications to ensure alignment and effective collaboration.
About you
You will be an experienced HR, workforce or organisational change specialist with a solid background in HR processes, workforce planning, people development, resource project and programme management within complex environments. You have a strategic and collaborative approach, with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement. You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in HR processes, workforce planning, people development, resource optimisation, and organisational change.
- Strong track record in driving organisational change and transformation initiatives.
- Skilled in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders and executives.
