
Provider Performance Lead - Business Services - NPHS

About the Role
We have the opportunity available to join our Business Services team as a Provider Performance Lead in a permanent, full-time role.
The primary purpose of the role is to manage a team of technical experts in provider purchasing and contracting for the National Public Health Service. The role is also expected to provide technical advice to senior decision-makers.
Your expertise will be drawn upon by different parts of the National Public Health Service including the senior leadership team, so you will be someone that can work at pace and collaboratively with management teams.

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
You have extensive experience in health planning and funding, particularly purchasing and contracting with healthcare providers. You have strong analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information and provide purchasing and contracting advice to senior leaders.
Skills and Experience
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience (e.g. Law, Finance, or Business)
- 15+ years technical experience, and 5 years management experience
- Extensive experience in procurement, purchasing and contracting, including in providing advice and analysis in a health context.
- Service planning and funding experience in the health system
- Extensive experience with developing and managing excel spreadsheets and using it to inform analysis and advice
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
