About the Role
We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Health Promotion team as a Senior Content Designer. In this important role, you'll lead the development of our digital products through effective management of the entire product development lifecycle. You'll define compelling product visions, create strategic roadmaps, that align with our health promotion goals, and maintain positive and productive vendor relationships. Working collaboratively with programme teams across our organisation, you'll shape digital experiences that make a meaningful difference to the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
About you
You are an experienced digital specialist with a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and to specification. You can confidently track progress against key accountabilities and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders. As a digital champion, you bring a deep understanding of user needs, the current digital landscape, and emerging trends that will shape our future work. Your excellent collaboration skills will enable you to effectively manage product launches and ensure that updates and changes are clearly communicated across the organisation, building enthusiasm and adoption for our digital initiatives.
Skills and Experience
- A relevant graduate qualification
- Demonstrated success in defining, developing, and launching customer-facing digital products or services
- Strong understanding of UX principles and digital technologies to evaluate technical feasibility and design effective user experiences
- Proven ability to gather user insights through research methods and transform them into clear product requirements
- Experience mentoring and coaching others in digital product development approaches
- Knowledge of digital accessibility standards and best practices
- Project management capabilities, including meeting deadlines and tracking progress against key accountabilities
- Experience using evidence-based approaches to validate product concepts prior to technical implementation
- Understanding of the health sector context and/or experience working in a public sector environment
- Experience using analytics and metrics to measure product performance and inform decision-making
- Excellent communication and stakeholder and vendor management skills with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation
