About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our diabetes clinical nurse specialist team. We are looking to recruit an experienced and passionate diabetes clinical nurse specialist.
About the Team
The diabetes nursing team works primarily within the Wairarapa community and general practice to provide assessment, support, assistance with treatment and follow-up of people with diabetes requiring complex care. The nurses also work closely with the inpatient MDT and consult with lead clinicians in both adult and paediatric care.
Diabetes nurses work closely with other providers to deliver education and support nursing workforce development in the delivery of quality and safe patient care to people living with diabetes.
This is a permanent part time position, working 64 hours per fortnight, (0.8 FTE) working across Monday-Friday, days of work to be agreed with successful canidate.
About you
The Clinical Nurse Specialist -Diabetes works within the clinical speciality, acting as a practitioner, role model, change agent, resource person and leader in the pursuit of clinical nursing excellence and improved health outcomes for older adults with frailty across the Wairarapa District.
- Registered Nurse with current Annual Practicing Certificate.
- Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in speciality nursing practice.
- Current driver's license.
- Registered with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse.
- Is recognised as an expert in the speciality.
- 4-5 years post registration experience in diabetes speciality practice.
Desirable
- Working towards completion of a relevant master's degree.
- Hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Practising Certificate with the endorsement of registered nurse prescriber.
