Group Manager Performance, Monitoring & Reporting - Hauora Māori Service

About the Role
As the Group Manager for Performance, Monitoring and Reporting, you will lead a team of analysts and advisors to develop best practice performance, monitoring and reporting standards/frameworks and systems to monitor and report on performance of the Hauora Māori Service and Hauora Māori Appropriation. The role requires expertise and experience in the machinery of government, including familiarity with drafting and reporting against accountability documents, preparing responses for select committees, and engaging with Ministers' offices.
The role also requires attention to detail in actively monitoring progress and performance in all areas of the Directorate, including supporting regional teams to monitor and report on outcomes/impact of delivery.

As the Hauora Māori Service of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora (Health NZ) our core role is to ensure New Zealanders have better and more timely access to health care. About you
You bring strategic insight and proven leadership, with experience in developing business plans and enhancing organisational systems and processes. A confident and effective communicator, you engage constructively with a wide range of stakeholders, including government agencies, service providers, communities, and whānau. You value diversity and its role in shaping inclusive, effective solutions—particularly within a Māori cultural context—demonstrating cultural competence in tikanga, te reo, and kawa.
You will have:
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience, including leadership experience at a senior level
- Strong understanding of the Pae Ora Act, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and relevant health legislation
- Experience in leading significant programmes of work from development to implementation
- Proven ability to manage complex and technical projects, with experience in the health sector considered an advantage
