
System Design Manager, Mentally Well, Southern - Planning, Funding and Outcomes

- Permanent Fulltime role, ideally based in the Southern Region – Te Waipounamu

About the Role
As the System Design Manager, you will be supporting the system and service redesign within the Mentally Well team to assist with the improvement of Māori Health and eliminate inequities. You will work in a collaborative way with other system development colleagues to design and implement new systems of care that are equitable, efficient and improve Māori health equity. You will be responsible for provider relationships and contract management in the Southern region, working as part of the Mentally Well Te Waipounamu team.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Mentally Well Team funds and supports the provision of all mental health and addiction services based in the community throughout Te Waipounamu. The team is currently located in Canterbury, South Canterbury and Queenstown with Southern offices available in Dunedin and South Canterbury. All Team members provide contract management, foster provider relationships and contribute to programmes of work within the Mental Health and Addiction continuum of care.
About you
You will be someone who holds authentic and trusting relationships with Māori, senior sector leaders and health providers, clinicians, and the wider community to address key system and service design issues. You will have experience being able to create the strategic road map and implementation plans required for Māori, the wider sector, clinicians, and communities to address access and outcomes for priority populations. You will be experienced in contract management and Provider relationships and ideally possess a background in Mental Health and/or addictions.
You will have:
- 5+ years system and service design and commissioning experience including contract management and Provider relationships
- Demonstrated system thinking that delivers collaborative, equity-based solutions
- Experience in the development of high quality and timely strategies and initiatives across a large organisation
- Experience developing, maintaining and influencing relationships and partnerships across sectors and organisations including clinicians, health and /or mental health providers, and Māori and Pacific Peoples groups
