About the Role and the team
MidCentral is part of Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora and provides healthcare services to over 180,000 people across the Manawatū, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. With a large hospital campus in Palmerston North, it also provides key health care and support services to neighbouring communities.
The Social Work team provides services to the wider MidCentral region. MidCentral is looking for an experienced Allied Health social worker or a new graduate to join the social work team for physical health.
This position is 36 hours per week and is fixed term for up to 10 months. This position is predominantly inpatient work and may involve outpatient work.
About you
You must have a recognised social work qualification, New Zealand Social Work registration, relevant experience in the health field, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, sense of humour and be able to work in a multidisciplinary setting along with other health and community based professionals.
A driver's licence is essential and ANZASW membership is desirable.
